Doces the Bunny was formed in 1990 when singer/songwriter Nathan Hanley met guitarist Michael N. Paine while working at a deli in Redwood City, California. They soon enlisted Tyelr Hanley, Nathan's brother and a drummer with a working drumset and an ear for rhythm.

They played regularly in the Hanley's family garage, playing through single guitar amps and recording their jams by tape on a stereo's single microphone. The guitars and drumset were taped together, and the sound was experimental and raw. The band was extremely influenced by the grunge scene exploding from Seattle, and the music showed it.

After years safely hidden in the garage, the band soon became regulars at the Pioneer Saloon in Woodside, California. Finally, in 1997, they went into the studio to record a five-song EP titled "Happy Wednesday". Soon after the recording, things changed for the band. They stayed close as friends, but distance eventually made songwriting together more difficult. Michael eventually made his way to Hawaii, Oregon and finally back to California.

Over the years the band found time to play small intimate concerts and stayed very close as friends. They still occasionally play the small intimate shows they became used to, and will from time to time threaten to go on tour or play more regularly.

Currently, Nathan and Tyler reside in Menlo Park, California, while Michael lives in Napa, California. At some point the band might get it together enough to record a full length CD, but for now, "Happy Wednesday" is their only professional recording. Of course, there are always those stacks of tapes.
